In other games, reigning champion Quezon Tangerines drubbed the Marikina Lady Shoemasters, 26-24, 25-16, 25-10, to stay at second place as the San Juan Lady Knight stunned the fourth-running Pasay Lady Voyagers, 25-20, 25-19, 13-25, 27-25.
Shekaina Lleses churned out 15 points while Sophia Badion and Yesha Keith Rojo added seven points each for the Tangerines, who improved to 7-1.
Backed by four-peat NCAA champion College of St. Benilde Lady Blazers, Quezon’s lone scar so far came against the new team to beat in Dasma in a catch-up mode to its title retention bid in the MPVA backed Mikasa, Asics, Spurway Enterprise, Gerflor, Smart Communications and XIV Apparel.
Kaycee Balingit and Mary Christine Ecalla joined forces with 15 and 10 points, respectively, for the Lady Knights, who improved to 3-5 at sixth place.
Selene Dagarat scored 13 for Marikina, stuck at No. 7 with a 1-7 record, as Iari Quimson scored 16 for the Lady Voyagers, who despite the loss stayed at No. 4 with 4-4 mark in the two-round MPVA organized by the Volleyball Masters of the Philippines.
