Vice President Sara Duterte attended a Filipino community event in Singapore to spend time with overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) there.
The official was seen in videos of Duterte supporters posted on Facebook.
According to one post, the Vice President was joined there by Senator Robin Padilla, lawyers Vic Rodriguez, Jimmy Bondoc, Jayvee Hinlo, and Dr. Richard Mata—all of whom run as senators under former president Rodrigo Duterte’s Partido ng Demokratiko Pilipino Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) party in the 2025 midterm polls.
The event was held by the SingPhil Events and Services LLP for their 10th anniversary celebration on Saturday, Oct. 25.
To take part in the celebration, Duterte even sang her own rendition of Bon Jovi’s “Bed of Roses,” eliciting loud cheers from the crowd.
On Friday, Oct. 24, the Vice President also graced a film forum at the NDM Expo in Singapore with her presence.
Duterte has come under fire for her recent travels. Since March, she has visited her father four times in The Hague, Netherlands.
In between, she also traveled to Qatar, Malaysia, Australia, South Korea, Kuwait, Paris, and Japan.
The Office of the Vice President (OVP) said it has spent P20.68 million for Duterte’s local and foreign trips from Jan. to July this year.
Citing budget documents, OVP Budget Division chief Kelvin Gerome Tenido said that of the P20.68 million, P13.21 million was spent on local travels and P7.47 million for foreign trips of the Vice President.
The OVP, however, stressed that “all the travel overseas of the Vice President is covered by a travel authority and did not use any public funds.”
