Team Liquid PH sweeps Aurora to claim MPL PH S16 crown

Crawling from the lower bracket to the finals, the Cavalry went on a rampage and dominated the Northern Lights to not only claim the franchise’s third MPL crown but also put itself in the position to complete the rare Golden Road feat in MLBB Esports.
A Golden Road is an achievement for any esports team which won all of the major championships through the year.
TLPH has won MPL PH S15, the Mid-Season Cup and the S16 and now only needs the M7 World Championship to put its name to the annals of competitive MLBB.
That would not happen, however, if not for the steady play of the TLPH quintet led by Finals MVP Jaypee “Jaypee” Dela Cruz alongside star jungler Karl “Karltzy” Nepomuceno, Kiel “Oheb” Soriano, Alston “Sanji” Pabico and Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya.
And there was no better sequence that displayed the impeccable team chemistry than the title-clinching play in Game 4 where they pulled off the team’s signature backdoor play.
With Aurora looking ready to pull off the comeback after securing the third Lord objective, Sanji, on the Lou Yi pick, utilized the Diversion ultimate to teleport all of the five TLPH players who went for the base lock to seal the deal.
