In anticipation of upcoming large-scale protest actions, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) conducted a Simultaneous Showdown Inspection of Forces and Equipment on Sunday morning, Oct. 26, at the QCPD Grandstand, Camp Karingal.
Acting District Director Col. Randy Glenn Silvio led the inspection to evaluate the readiness and capability of QCPD personnel and assets, ensuring the district’s preparedness for the 2nd Trillion Peso March set on Nov. 30.
The activity forms part of the Management of Resources agenda of the Acting Chief, PNP, and supports the “ABLE” program of the NCRPO Regional Director—both aimed at strengthening operational efficiency and resource management within police units.
Among the units and equipment inspected were buses, trucks, patrol vehicles, Civil Disturbance Management (CDM) gear, drones, body-worn cameras, and the district’s command vehicle used for monitoring and coordination during operations.
Specialized units such as the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) and Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine (EOD/K9) teams also participated, presenting their assault rifles, ballistic shields, Long Range Acoustic Devices (LRADs), Explosive Detection Dogs (EDDs), and EOD robots in full operational readiness.
“The QCPD is always prepared to serve and protect. We ensure that our personnel, equipment, and resources are fully ready to effectively and professionally respond to any situation during public assemblies,” Silvio said.
