Taal Volcano emits 1,200-meter-high plume in minor phreatomagmatic eruption

A minor phreatomagmatic eruption occurred at the main crater of Taal Volcano on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 25, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
In its advisory, Phivolcs said the eruption transpired at 5:30 p.m.
“This event generated plumes that rose 1,200 meters above the crater as recorded by the Main Crater IP Camera and thermal cameras,” Phivolcs stated.
The agency said Alert Level 1 remains in effect over Taal Volcano, indicating low-level unrest.
