Operatives from Malabon City Police Station (MCPS) recovered the body of an unidentified man found floating in the waters along Pilota Street, Gabriel 2 Subdivision, Barangay Hulong Duhat, on Thursday, Oct. 23.
According to the MCPS Officer-in-Charge Col. Allan Umipig, the body was discovered at around 8:30 a.m. by Joseph Sido, 54, a resident of the area, who immediately reported the incident to authorities.
The victim, estimated to be 40 to 50 years old, was wearing black pants and a green hooded long-sleeve shirt when found.
Police said the body was bloated and in an advanced state of decomposition when retrieved from the water.
The Barangay Hulong Duhat Council has been informed and is coordinating with the police to help establish the man’s identity.
As of this writing, investigators have yet to determine the cause of death, and the case remains under investigation.
Authorities are urging anyone with information that could help identify the victim to contact the Malabon City Police Station.
