Taguig buy-bust operations net 3 drug suspects, P361K shabu
Police arrested three men and seized P361,000 worth of shabu in two buy-bust operations in Taguig City on Oct. 23 and 24.
The first operation was conducted on Oct. 23 in Barangay Rizal, Taguig, resulting in the arrest of two suspects identified as alias Crisante, 47, and alias Paul, 27, both residents of the city.
The suspects were apprehended after selling shabu to an undercover police officer during a buy-bust operation conducted by personnel of the Taguig Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit
Recovered from the two street-level Individuals were six plastic sachets containing 28.1 grams of shabu valued at P191,080, a genuine P500 bill marked as buy-bust money, and six pieces of P1,000 boodle money.
A few hours later at 12:05 a.m. on Oct. 24, another entrapment operation was launched in Barangay Tuktukan, Taguig, that led to the arrest of alias Carry, 41, also tagged as a street-level individual.
Seized during the operation were 12 sachets of shabu with an estimated value of P170,000, a genuine P500 bill marked as buy-bust money, and six pieces of P1,000 boodle money.
The confiscated pieces of evidence were turned over to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.
Criminal complaints for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) are being prepared for filing before the Taguig City Prosecutor’s Office.
Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo, acting SPD district director, lauded the Taguig police, saying, “These back-to-back successful operations show our strong resolve to keep illegal drugs off our streets and our communities safe. I commend our Taguig police for their dedication, vigilance, and teamwork in upholding the SPD’s mission of a drug-free district.”
