Rallyists try to enter compound where ICI holds office in Taguig
Rallyists tried to enter the Department of Energy main office in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig on Oct. 24 where the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) holds office.
The protesters went there to condemn the alleged anomalies in flood control projects.
“Lahat ng sangkot dapat managot (Everyone involved must be held accountable),” one placard read.
Among them were members of the People Surge National Alliance of Disaster Survivors who went there “to demand accountability of culpable officials, contractors, and others involved in anomalous flood control and infrastructure projects.”
Security guards closed the gate to prevent them from entering the compound. The Taguig police deployed personnel to the area.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. created the ICI to investigate and recommend charges against people involved in anomalous flood control projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in the last 10 years.
