Rape suspect arrested in Taguig

Police arrested a 20-year-old dishwasher in Taguig who was wanted for statutory rape in Borongan City in Eastern Samar.

The suspect was identified as  alias Melvin, a resident of Purok 2 in Barangay New Lower Bicutan in Taguig.

His arrest in Barangay New Lower Bicutan was conducted through a joint operation by the Llorente police of Eastern Samar and Taguig police on Oct. 21. 

Melvin was wanted for three counts of statutory rape. The warrant of arrest with no bail recommended was issued on June 3 last year by Presiding Judge Nathaniel Baldono of the Borongan City Regional Trial Court Branch 2. 

After the arrest, he was brought to the Taguig City Health Office for medical examination and will be turned over to the Llorente police.
