The Parañaque City government received a Special Citation Award from the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) for its dynamic development of transport and logistics infrastructure that reinforces its position as a major hub.
The PCCI presented the recognition to the city government during the 2025 Most Business-Friendly Local Government Units Award held on Oct. 20 at the SMX Convention Center.
Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez said the award was given to the Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) under the leadership of Atty. Melanie Malaya.
“With its proximity to NAIA, enhanced road networks such as the NAIA Expressway and C-5 Link, and integrated logistics facilities, Parañaque City continues to drive connectivity, streamline the movement of goods and people, and strengthen its reputation as a vital center for trade, investment, and economic activity," the award read.
Olivarez lauded Malaya and her team for their hardwork in showing that public service is the main goal of the city government in making Parañaque a business-friendly city.
One of the BPLO's noteworthy initiatives is the creation of its Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS), dubbed as Pque E-BOSS. The Pque E-BOSS was designed to make business permit applications and renewals easier and faster.
The Pque E-BOSS was launched on July 30, 2024, and has since set the standard on how business transactions are done, creating a seamless and end-to-end online experience for local government transactions.
