The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued its final advisory for Tropical Depression Salome on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 23, after the weather disturbance weakened into a low-pressure area (LPA) while moving away from the Philippine area of responsibility.
The LPA was last spotted 135 kilometers northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.
In its 5 p.m. bulletin, PAGASA said the weather system is less likely to bring significant heavy rainfall over Batanes within the next 24 hours.
However, scattered light to moderate rains and thunderstorms are still expected over the Bicol Region, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, Quezon, Palawan, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Iloilo, Guimaras, Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Norte, and Sultan Kudarat due to other prevailing weather systems.
PAGASA said its Regional Services Divisions will continue to issue thunderstorm advisories, rainfall advisories, or heavy rainfall warnings as necessary.
With this development, PAGASA said this will be its final advisory for the weather disturbance.
