Illegal drugs worth P43,860,000, including high-grade kush, dried marijuana leaves, and marijuana vape juices, were confiscated during a buy-bust operation in Taytay, Rizal, on Thursday, Oct. 23.
Personnel of the Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of the Taytay Municipal Police Station, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), conducted the operation at the suspect’s residence in Barangay Dolores, Taytay, Rizal. Authorities did not disclose his identity.
The suspect was arrested after handing over a resealable plastic sachet containing high-grade kush to a police poseur buyer in exchange for P5,000 in marked money inside his home.
During the arrest, police officers noticed several packages of illegal drugs on a table, as well as travel luggage that was allegedly filled with contraband.
Upon opening the packages, they recovered 71 packs (35 kilos) of high-grade kush, 23 packs (23 kilos) of dried marijuana leaves, 80 mini boxes containing about 1,600 cartridges of liquid marijuana, and 40 small boxes of vape units, along with approximately 200 boxes of marijuana vape juices.
Authorities also recovered several non-drug items, including an alleged fake driver’s license, a passport, a maroon travel luggage, five P1,000 bills, three large boxes, a nylon bag, a black plastic box, and a weighing scale.
The suspect is currently detained at the Taytay Municipal Police Station Custodial Facility in Barangay Dolores, facing charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Taytay Police Chief Lt. Col. Marlo Nillo Solero urged the public to immediately report any suspicious activities or illegal drug transactions within their communities.
