P100,000 bounty offered for suspects in murder of teenage girl
BACOLOD CITY – Mayor Greg Gasataya announced that the city government is offering a P100,000 reward to anyone who can provide credible information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the killing of a 17-year-old woman in this highly-urbanized city on Wednesday, Oct. 22.
In a statement released late Wednesday night, Gasataya strongly condemned the cruel and despicable act committed on the teenage victim, whose body was found in a grassy vacant lot at the reclamation area in Barangay 12.
“What transpired is beyond reason and demands swift, decisive, and uncompromising justice,” the mayor stated.
Gasataya said they have coordinated with the Bacolod City Police Office to exhaust every resource and pursue every lead until those responsible are found and made to answer for this crime.
“No one capable of such cruelty will ever find refuge in our city,” he added.
The city government condoled with the bereaved family, and signified to provide any form of assistance and support as they move for the pursuit of truth and accountability.
“Bacolod stands united, in grief, outrage, and unbreakable resolve, to protect every life and ensure that such cruelty will never go unpunished on our soil,” Gasataya said.
According to the police, the victim’s hands and feet were both hogtied, and her lower garment was pulled down when she was discovered by a passerby.
Her body bore signs of physical struggle, including scratches and bruises. Investigation is ongoing.
The reward aims to intensify the pursuit for justice. Any information about the perpetrators may be directly coordinated with the local police through Police Col. Joeresty Coronica, Bacolod police director.
