The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) will be on full alert status on Oct. 31 as part of the security measures for the observance of the All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days on Nov. 1 and 2.
NCRPO director Maj. Gen. Anthony A. Aberin said the move was aimed at ensuring the safety and order as millions of Filipinos are expected to visit cemeteries and transport hubs across Metro Manila.
“Our preparation for Undas is anchored on anticipation, coordination, and compassion. Even with simultaneous rallies expected across the region, our goal is to maintain peace without compromising the rights of the people,” said Aberin.
Aberin disclosed that the NCRPO has intensified its operational planning and coordination to address the dual challenges of public safety and crowd management—for Undas and the planned rallies.
“Commanders from all police districts have been directed to implement preemptive security measures emphasizing visibility, mobility, and rapid response capabilities to ensure a peaceful and orderly observance,” said Aberin.
A total of 8, 575 policemen will be deployed across Metro Manila— a total of 8, 323 from the five police districts, the Regional Headquarters, the Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB); and, 252 from support units.
Around 2,200 personnel will be deployed in cemeteries and columbaria; 256 policemen in transportation hubs such as bus terminals, train stations, and airports/seaports; and, 386 cops in places of worship, major thoroughfares.
He said around 417 policemen will be tapped to secure rally convergence points, and other areas of public congregation.
“Police assistance desks, inspection teams, and mobile patrols will be strategically positioned to guide the public, manage vehicular flow, and respond swiftly to emergencies,” said Aberin.
He said additional personnel, around 1,300, will be assigned to continuous anti-criminality operations, beat and mobile patrols, law enforcement checkpoints, area and route security, traffic management, and medical teams to ensure a coordinated and effective presence across the metropolis.
