PASSENGERS are rescued from a distressed fast craft in Basilan province.
ZAMBOANGA CITY – Passengers of a distressed fast craft were rescued by the Philippine Coast Guard and local fishermen in the sea of Isabela City, Basilan province on Thursday morning, Oct. 23.
The fast craft was travelling from Zamboanga City to Basilan when it suddenly experienced engine trouble, preventing it from reaching the port of Isabela.
PCG personnel and local fishermen responded to the distress call and evacuated the passengers using small boats and transported them to the port.
No casualties were reported.
Coast Guard personnel and the fishermen were commended for their swift response that prevented the loss of lives.
