Music truly has the power to uplift. A testament to that is Ang Misyon, Inc. (AMI) and its recent achievement at the Filipino Music Awards (FMA) 2025, held on Oct. 21, 2025, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
Through its program, the Orchestra of the Filipino Youth, AMI bagged the Music Foundation of the Year award at the inaugural FMA. It was recognized for its initiative in providing free classical music education to young musicians and for its efforts to make orchestral music more accessible to Filipino youth.
Since its establishment, AMI has helped over 1,200 young scholars who would otherwise not have the means to pursue formal music education.
“Ang aming success ay nasusukat sa dami ng mga kabataang Pilipinong aming natutulungan, nahuhubog, at nabibigyan ng pag-asa ng magandang kinabukasan (Our success is measured by the number of Filipino youth we are able to help, nurture, and inspire with hope for a better future),” said Executive Director Mickey Muñoz. “Ito ang aming mission, passion, advocacy, at legacy—ang ipamamana namin sa kabataang Pilipino ngayon at sa mga susunod na henerasyon (This is our mission, passion, advocacy, and legacy—the heritage we will pass on to today’s Filipino youth and to the generations to come).”
AMI extends its heartfelt gratitude to Federico R. Lopez, chairman and CEO of First Philippine Holdings Corporation, whose vision and support continue to sustain the organization’s mission of transforming lives through the power of music, and to Shirley Cruz, vice president of AMI, for her invaluable guidance, encouragement, and advocacy.
Their shared belief in music as a catalyst for change—and their unwavering support—inspires the AMI community to strive for excellence, create social impact, and nurture the next generation of Filipino musicians and leaders.
The FMA, launched in August 2025, mark a new era of recognition for the country’s thriving and diverse music industry. Organized to celebrate Filipino artistry across genres and generations, the FMA also introduced Legacy Awards—special honors for individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to advancing Filipino musical excellence.
