San Juan City sends financial aid to earthquake-hit Davao Oriental
The San Juan City government has allocated P1,000,000 as financial aid for the province of Davao Oriental after powerful earthquakes rocked the region earlier in October, San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora said on Tuesday, Oct. 21.
According to Zamora, the aid was made possible through its City Ordinance No. 33 Series of 2025.
The region was previously hit by severely powerful tremors since Oct. 10, including a magnitude 7.4 and 6.8 quake and a 5.7 magnitude aftershock on Oct. 20.
San Juan City had previously donated P1 million each for the province of Cebu and Bogo City, which were also rocked by a 6.9 magnitude earthquake and several strong aftershocks on Sept. 30.
Zamora went to the province to personally hand over the checks to Cebu Gov. Pam Baricuatro and Mayor Mayel Martinez of Bogo City, where the epicenter of the quake was located.
