No other congressmen except for those previously invited by the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) are expected to attend the body's flood control project hearings in the next coming days.
"As of now, no other congressman/congresswoman has been invited by the ICI," the body's executive director, Brian Hosaka, told reporters in a Viber message.
"Hence, there are no congressman/congresswoman who would request for postponement," he added.
Hosaka's remark came in the context of former House Speaker and Leyte 1st district Rep. Martin Romualdez' request to the ICI to reset his hearing, which was originally scheduled on Oct. 22. This was his second hearing with the commission.
Romualdez cited medical reasons for his request, according to ICI.
Aside from Romualdez, former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) undersecretary Roberto Bernardo had requested twice to postpone his attendance to ICI hearings, also due to medical reasons.
Meanwhile, former Ako Bicol party-list representative Zaldy Co, who resigned late last month following his implication in the flood control project controversy, has not yet shown up to the commission despite subpoenas sent to him by the body.
Other incumbent and former lawmakers who already took part in the hearings were Senator Francis "Chiz" Escudero and former senator Grace Poe. The latter was chairperson of the Senate Finance Committee during the previous 19th Congress.
