Manila’s premier and only European auction house makes a comeback to the auction setting through its Casa: Holiday (ONLINE) auction powered by Invaluable on November 29, 2025, 2PM PST.
For this auction, Casa’s very own Director and General Manager, Angelique Lhuillier, and Camille Lhuillier-Albani, chose and curated the pieces. The theme “holiday” was in mind as this is approaching the season. The Lhuillier siblings envisioned it as the destination to discover extraordinary gifts for loved ones, friends, and family.
Among the highlight pieces are:
Lot 07
Louis XV Cabinet
A finely crafted cabinet in the Louis XV style, richly adorned with marquetry details. The piece features two central drawers surmounted by two paneled doors, opening to a fitted interior.
The Louis XV style, also known as Rococo, emerged in 18th-century France and is celebrated for its elegance, intimacy, and refined ornamentation. Characterized by fluid lines, rocaille motifs, and masterful marquetry, it marked a departure from the grandeur of Louis XIV, favoring comfort and decorative artistry that influenced European design for generations.
Lot 17
Louis XIII Style Frame
A Louis XIII style frame, inspired by early 17th-century French design (1610-1643). Beautifully adorned with carvings of acanthus leaves, geometric patterns, and linear ornamentation.
Lot 75
Set of (4) Swan Porcelain Planters
A set of (4) hand-crafted glazed ceramic swans. Each swan features elegantly curved necks, finely textured feather details in relief, and applied floral accents along the sides. Their feet are subtly visible at the base, adding a lifelike touch. Marked “Nove Z.A. dal 1860 Italia Lavorazione a mano,” the set was made by Antonio Zen (b. 1871), a noted ceramist and son of Giovanni Battista Zen. Trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, Zen later co-founded G.B. Zen & Son, which became "A. Zen Ceramics". Entirely made by hand.
Bust of a Greco-Roman Male
A dark patinated bronze mounted on a marble base, depicting a youthful figure with classical features and softly curling hair, evoking a Greco-Roman style.
Lot 86
Courting Scene Limoges Tray
A French, 19th century tray representing a courting scene in landscape. Signed "LUC."
Originating in the 18th century, Limoges porcelain was developed after the discovery of kaolin near Limoges, France, making it the center of French porcelain production; initially produced for royalty and the elite.
Lot 89
Chinese Imari Charger, depicting Clashing Dragons in Wucai and Gold
An 18th-century Chinese Imari porcelain charger, richly decorated with two clashing dragons amid a landscape scene encircling the plate. Unlike Japanese Imari, this piece reflects Chinese craftsmanship through its use of wucai (five colours): green, yellow, rose, blue, and black, enhanced with gilded accents. The style emerged when Chinese artisans began producing Imari wares to meet European demand during Japan’s period of isolation (sakoku), continuing the legacy of Arita porcelain with distinct Chinese artistry.
Lot 100
French Rococo Style Gilt Mirror
A gilt mirror in the French Rococo style, dating from the late 18th to 19th century. The frame is richly decorated with scrolling foliage, acanthus leaves, and intricate ornamental details, embodying the lavish and graceful aesthetics of the Rococo period.
Originating in early 18th-century France during the reign of Louis XV, the Rococo style moved away from the heavy grandeur of the Baroque. Though equally ornate, it favored softer colors, gilded accents, and asymmetrical, flowing designs.
Lot 148
Sterling Silver Ash Trays
A set of (3) Spanish sterling silver ashtrays in various sizes, each marked with "Primera Ley" and "Sterling" guarantee stamps, dating from 20th-century Spain. These marks indicate a silver purity of 925/1000 and reflect the country’s regulated hallmarking system, which gained prominence in the early 1900s. Spanish silver from this period is valued for its blend of traditional craftsmanship and evolving modern design, often produced by skilled silversmiths who maintained artisanal quality despite industrial trends.
Lot 169
Set of (12) Silver Teaspoons
A set of twelve uniformly sized Portuguese silver teaspoons, housed in a leather case lined with cream-colored fabric. The case is marked “A.A. Correa & Compa,” while each teaspoon bears the Lisbon assay mark (dated 1879–1881) and a goldsmith’s mark attributed to Ricardo da Costa (active 1860s-1870s).
