5 traffic enforcers lauded for apprehending thief inside Mandaluyong tunnel
The Mandaluyong City local government gave due recognition to five Traffic and Parking Management Department (TPMD) traffic enforcers for the successful arrest of one of five men who were caught stealing electric cables and light bulbs along Boni Avenue Tunnel.
Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos identified the traffic enforcers as Guillermo Neria, Arnel Mones, Orlando Dalisay, Michael Tamondong, and Erwin Coronado.
According to Traffic Enforcement Division head Lorrie Lumabas, the incident occurred last Oct. 15 when a concerned motorist reported the theft inside
the tunnel.This prompted the five traffic enforcers stationed near the area to immediately pursue the perpetrators, resulting in the arrest of one of the suspects.
The suspect was subsequently turned over to the police and is now facing theft charges.
Abalos commended the five traffic enforcers, stressing that their heroism and courage go above and beyond their call of duty.
