Traffic enforcers foil suicide attempt at NLEX bridge

A woman attempting to jump off the NLEX bridge in Barangay Malhakan, Meycauayan City, Bulacan, was safely stopped by traffic enforcers on Monday, Oct. 20.
The woman, later identified by the alias “Joy,” a resident of Barangay Bayugo, was seen climbing the bridge railing around 12:20 p.m.
Enforcers from NLEX and Meycauayan City, along with Councilor Ronald Palomates, responded swiftly to the scene.
They engaged Joy in conversation for nearly an hour, persuading her to step down while others carefully approached to assist.
During the conversation, enforcers learned that she was experiencing severe emotional distress following the loss of her child.
Joy was later brought to the Meycauayan City Social Welfare Office for counseling and support.
