- Sen. Christopher "Bong" Go, who served as special assistant to the president during Duterte's term, said the former senator should seek the assistance of the Commission on Audit (COA) to check if there were indeed anomalies in his family's business.
Senator Christopher “Bong” Go on Tuesday, October 21 told former senator Antonio Trillanes IV to not deviate from the issue of who are the real perpetrators behind the anomalous flood control projects.
Go pointed this out after Trillanes filed plunder and graft complaints against him and former president Rodrigo Duterte earlier this morning.
Go, who served as special assistant to the president during Duterte’s term, said the former senator should seek the assistance of the Commission on Audit (COA) to check if there were indeed anomalies in his family’s business.
Trillanes alleged that Go's father, owner of CLTG Builders, as well as the Alfrego Builders owned by Go's brother, had secured billions worth of government contracts from 2008 when Duterte was still serving as Davao City mayor up to present.
According to Trillanes, CLTG Builders entered a joint venture with St. Gerrard Construction, a company owned by contractor-couple Curlee and Sara Discaya, to win P816 million worth of government contracts during the Duterte administration from 2016 to 2022.
Go, however, said all of Trillanes’ accusations against him are just
rehashed from his previous allegations against the former president.
“I have been expecting this complaint and now we are in the proper forum to prove the baselessness of his allegations. I have now the opportunity to answer him point by point before the Ombudsman,” Go said during a press briefing.
“I will cooperate with the investigation and abide by its legal processes. I believe the truth will be revealed and justice and fairness will prevail,” he further said.
Go insisted that his family had already been businessmen even before he was born. He also prohibited his family from entering into any government contracts when he started his stint as a public servant.
“So rehash lang, paninira lang talaga (It’s all rehashed, he is just out to destroy my reputation),” he said.
“Yun lang totoo dito ngayon. Nililihis niya ..it’s the same lang. Paulit-ulit na (That’s the real score here now. He is just diverting the issue on anomalies in flood control projects. He’s been saying it again and again),” he pointed out.
Go insisted that if there were any anomalies or irregularities in the projects entered into by his family, he should sue the people involved.
“Sinasabi ko nga, ako pa mismo, willing po akong kasuhan kahit kapamilya ko, kahit sino pa ‘yan (As I’ve been saying, I myself, I’m willing to file a case even against my own family members),” Go said.
