The Navotas City government has issued an advisory on road closures, cemetery regulations, and safety reminders in preparation for the observance of Undas 2025, to ensure an orderly and peaceful visit to local cemeteries.
According to the Public Information Office (PIO), Gov. A. Pascual Street will be temporarily closed to all vehicles from A. Ignacio Street (Bacog) to A. Santiago Street beginning at 12 p.m. on Oct. 31 until 12 a.m. on Nov. 2.
The road closure will affect routes leading to major cemeteries, including the Immaculate Garden Memorial Park, Navotas City Cemetery, and Navotas Catholic Cemetery.
Motorists are advised to take alternative routes along M. Naval Street and nearby roads during the period.
The city government said traffic enforcers will be deployed to manage vehicular flow and assist visitors.
It also reminded residents that Oct. 29 will be the last day for cleaning tombs and graves in preparation for the observance.
To maintain peace and order, the city reiterated the following cemetery rules:
Alcoholic beverages and other intoxicating drinks are strictly prohibited.
Sharp or pointed objects such as knives and ice picks are not allowed.
Gambling inside cemeteries is prohibited.
Loud sound systems or other noise-producing devices are not permitted.
The city government also said that these measures are part of the city’s continuing effort to promote a safe, solemn, and organized observance of Undas, as thousands of residents are expected to visit their departed loved ones from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2.
The local government urged the public to follow the guidelines and cooperate with authorities to ensure a smooth and respectful commemoration.
