Manila Police District (MPD) Station 3 Commander Lt. Col. Rexson Layug, together with Blumentritt Police Community Precinct (PCP) Chief Cpt. Ferdie Cayabyab, paid a courtesy visit to Manila North Cemetery (MNC) Director Daniel Dandan Tan to discuss safety and security protocols for the annual event, as part of preparations for the upcoming observance of Undas 2025.
The meeting focused on ensuring a peaceful and orderly observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day, when millions of people are expected to visit the cemetery to pay respects to their departed loved ones.
Director Tan and Cpt. Cayabyab have already held several coordination meetings in recent weeks to finalize the deployment of personnel, crowd control measures, traffic flow management, and emergency response plans.
In line with the directive of Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso, the Manila North Cemetery administration, the Philippine National Police, and other government agencies continue to work closely together to ensure the safety and welfare of the public during the observance.
MNC is considered one of the largest and oldest cemeteries in the Philippines.
Police reported that over 1.5 million visitors flocked to MNC from October 29 to November 2, 2024.
Authorities are expected to release further advisories and guidelines in the coming days regarding visiting hours, prohibited items, and health and safety reminders for the millions anticipated to flock to one of the country’s largest public cemeteries.
