There is no denying that the Philippines is rich in design talents who merge the country’s cultural heritage with modern sensibilities. What they need is a platform that will showcase them on a grander scale—one that makes a statement reaching beyond the archipelago’s borders. That’s the mission of Manila (MNL) Fashion Week.
For its first edition, it brought together today’s most esteemed names and brands in fashion at the Samsung Hall of SM Aura in Taguig City for a four-day style fest held from Oct. 16 to 19, 2025.
MNL Fashion Week aims to fill this gap by serving as a stage for local designers and brands to present their stories and capabilities to the world. Its inaugural showcase featured fashion designers Andrea Tetangco, Chris Nick, Iñigo, Viña Romero, and Randolf, as well as the brands DBTK, Viktor, and Oxgn.
On its first day, MNL Fashion Week gathered many of Manila’s chicest crowd to toast its debut. Among those spotted at the show were influencer David Guison, celebrity couple Khalil Ramos and Gabbi Garcia, and style muses Kylie Verzosa, Sofia Andres, and Issa Pressman. Other celebrities also graced the runway, including Xian Lim, Victor Basa, and Luis Hontiveros, who headlined Ino Caluza and Will Mueco's presentation for their brand Viktor.
“The key to making Filipino fashion global is working together. We are stronger together,” MNL Fashion Week founder John Lozano muses. “Of course, everyone can hold their own fashion shows, but I believe that when we unite—when we come together—we become much stronger. That’s what we want to promote through Manila Fashion Week. These eight designers will help push Filipino fashion forward.”
