"Congressmeow" Cavite 4th district Rep. Francisco "Kiko" Barzaga shared his statement of assets, liabilities, and net worth (SALN) in the only way he can--through a Facebook post, using a cat avatar.
Barzaga uploaded picture files of his SALN on his Facebook on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 21.
The main post showed the two-page document held by a white cat. He posted clean copies of the files in the comments section.
As per the shared document, Barzaga, 27, a social media savant and first-time congressman, has a net worth of P5.375 million.
He clarified in post, "Not including untransferred, inherited assets from the late Congressman Pidi Barzaga: Vehicles, Dasmariñas Property, and Cash amounting to an estimated total of 35 Million PHP."
The P5.375 million were totalled from his declared "cash" and "cash from monthly income".
He declared ownership of two vehicles: A Toyota Camry and a Toyota Hiace Super Grandia. But these didn't figure in his net worth, since Barzaga listed them as acquired in 2019 as "donations".
He didn’t declare any real properties, as well as liabilities.
Barzaga listed four persons under the "Relatives In The Government Service" field of his SALN. They were all local officials in Cavite.
These were Dasmariñas City Mayor Jenny Barzaga, his mother; Dasmariñas City Vice Mayor Elpidio Barzaga III, his brother; Dasmariñas City Senior Administrative Assistant III Jocelyn Austria, his aunt; and Provincial Board Member Nickanor Austria Jr., his uncle.
