Pasig river is an opportunity, not a problem - Mayor Isko
Mayor Isko Moreno joins President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos during the launch of Phase 4 of the Pasig Bigyang Buhay Muli (PBBM) Project at the Lawton Pasig River Ferry Station. The initiative aims to transform the Pasig River into a safer, greener, and more accessible space for pedestrians, cyclists, and tourists.
Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso emphasized that the Pasig River should be seen as an opportunity for the city rather than a problem during the official launch of Phase 4 of the Pasig Bigyang Buhay Muli (PBBM) Project at the Lawton Pasig River Ferry Station.
“Pasig River is not a problem; it’s an opportunity,” he said, highlighting the river’s potential to connect communities and promote sustainability.
The latest phase focuses on the development of walkways, bike lanes, commercial spaces, and pedestrian bridges along the river, designed to create safer and greener routes for pedestrians and cyclists.
Phase 4 will connect Fort Santiago in Intramuros to Arroceros Forest Park, establishing a continuous and scenic urban corridor that aims to revitalize Manila’s historic waterfront.
The project is part of a broader initiative to bring life back to the Pasig River through infrastructure improvements, environmental protection, and the creation of inclusive public spaces.
