DAVAO CITY – The Dutertes provided additional assistance on Monday to fire victims in Barangay 21-C as part of their ongoing efforts to help affected residents rebuild their homes and lives.
Davao City first district Rep. Paolo Duterte and PPP party-list Rep. Harold Duterte personally led the distribution of 2,000 corrugated roofing sheets to families in Barangay 21-C.
Paolo said the materials will be used for the construction and repair of damaged houses in the affected communities whose families are temporarily staying at a covered court.
Barangay 21-C Captain Joenard Gabrillo, grateful for the two lawmakers' assistance, said he was surprised by their unannounced visit.
“I was really caught off guard. I thought Congressman Pulong’s assistance had already ended, but they suddenly arrived, bringing construction materials,” Gabrillo said.
Earlier, the Dutertes, including acting Davao City Vice Mayor Rodrigo Duterte II, were among the first to respond after the incident, giving food packs, financial aid, and kitchen supplies.
The First Congressional District Office provided psychosocial support to affected residents and fun activities and school supplies for the children.
Paolo emphasized that their assistance will not stop with the initial relief operations. “We will continue to help until every family can rebuild their homes and stand on their feet."
The Dutertes thanked volunteers, barangay officials, and donors who have joined the continuing relief and rehabilitation efforts.
