The Davao City government has released guidelines for cemetery visits in observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days (Undas).
In a public advisory on Monday, the city announced that public cemeteries are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Oct. 30 to Nov. 3.
The city will strictly enforce a “no overnight stay” policy in these public cemeteries. Private cemeteries, however, may issue their own operating hours.
Visitors using private vehicles are advised that a “one entrance, one exit” traffic scheme will be implemented.
Medical tents will also be stationed at the entrances of all public cemeteries to respond to emergencies.
The city has issued a list of strictly prohibited items and activities to maintain peace and order:
– The use of drones and carrying of deadly weapons is strictly prohibited.
– Visitors are also discouraged from wearing jackets, bringing backpacks, playing loud music, or bringing alcoholic beverages.
– Gambling, loitering, and entry of scavengers will not be allowed.
The City Economic Enterprises (CEE) will suspend burial and cremation services from Oct. 30 to Nov. 3.
Guests were urged to clean their areas before leaving and to follow instructions from the Safety and Security Cluster. (PNA)
