Located in Anabu 2, Imus, Cavite, Blic’s latest mural transforms an urban wall into a visual allegory of strength, patience, and survival. The artwork centers on a driver figure—powered by a battery symbolizing energy and determination—navigating through life’s muddy challenges, represented by the spinning tire. Surrounding symbols speak of endurance and hope: a piggy bank for saving and security, a ripe mango for patience, and a pearl bracelet for the persistence it takes to achieve one’s goals. A shooting star streaks across the sky, representing dreams and the things one hopes to manifest, while the sunset behind it glows with the promise of renewal. In Blic’s signature language of personified hands, the mural reflects human resilience—the smaller figure beside the human hand serving as one’s conscience and inner drive. Even as the day fades, Blic’s work reminds viewers that every ending carries the light of a new beginning.
At the core of Blic’s practice is the use of personified hands he calls “humands,” a unique visual language that represents exceptional individuals. In a world where greatness is often seen as peculiar, his hand figures embody those who stand out—people who disrupt, create, and transform their surroundings. Just as hands have the power to build, communicate, and express, his work highlights how extraordinary individuals leave lasting imprints on the world. Blic’s themes revolve around human life experiences, always with an undertone of optimism. His works serve as reminders that greatness, in any form, can lead to a better life, inspiring viewers to embrace their own unique strengths in a rapidly evolving world.
