Lady vlogger dies in Capiz flash flood

ILOILO CITY – A lady vlogger died during the flash flood that engulfed many towns in Capiz province on Saturday, Oct. 18.
The victim was identified as 23-year-old Mae C. Urdelas of Ivisan town, Capiz province. She was popularly known as “Ka Lover’s Blog” by her online followers.
“Tama nana nga ulan (The rain should stop),” said Urdales’ last post prior to the 5 p.m. incident.
Barangay Captain Allan de los Santos told RMN Roxas in an interview that the victim, her brother, and her brother-in-law were trying to cross a swollen creek in Sitio Bagaas in Barangay Malocloc Sur, Ivisan when her brother-in-law slipped.
She tried to help her brother-in-law but Urdelas fell into the creek.
Her brother, a barangay tanod (watchman), tried to rescue her but she was swept away by the strong current.
Her body was retrieved more than a kilometer away from where she drowned.
Fellow vlogger Romnica Obamos Almonguera in a Facebook Live post on Sunday morning, Oct. 19, showed fans visiting the wake of Urdales. “Damu ga palangga sa imo (Many people love you),” Almonguera said.
