PAGADIAN City fire
ZAMBOANGA CITY – Property worth P16 million was destroyed in a fire in Pagadian City’s business district on Friday, Oct. 17.
A report from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the fire razed three big establishments – Alvin Bazaar and Alvin Home Depot belonging to businessman Alvin Uy and a warehouse of Mercury Drug.
Two families were affected in the blaze but no casualties were reported.
Fourteen firetrucks from the BFP, Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, and Pagadian City DRRMO put out the fire that started at 8:20 p.m.
The fire reached third alarm. Fire out was declared at 11:25 p.m.
Damage to property was placed at P16.1 million.
Arson investigators are still determining the cause of the fire.
