Man dies, backrider hurt in motorcycle crash

CEBU CITY – A motorcycle driver died while his backrider was injured when they fell off a cliff in Barangay Cambinocot here past noon Saturday, Oct. 18.
Alberto Lapesigue, 57, was declared dead when he was brought to the Cebu City Medical Center.
Floyd Perez Jr., Lapesigue’s neighbor in Barangay Mantuyong, Mandaue City, survived the accident but was wounded in the foot.
According to the Traffic Enforcement Unit of the Cebu City Police Office, the riders were traversing along a highway when Lapesigue lost control of the wheel when they reached a curved portion of the road.
The motorcycle overshoot, causing it to roll down the cliff.
Investigators are checking reports that the motorcycle driver was drunk during the incident.
