BACOLOD CITY – Estefania Elementary School defended its title in the school category of the MassKara Street Dance and Arena Competition here on Saturday, Oct. 18.
Led by School Principal Maria Lyn Braña, Estefania Elementary School bested six other participating schools and won the P750,000 cash prize.
Estefania also bagged several special awards – Best in Music, Best in Theme and Concept, and the Kapuso Choice Award that recognized the contingent that captivated both the judges and the crowd.
Estefania also won in 2019, the last time the school category was included in the competition and before it was halted due to the pandemic.
First runner-up was Paglaum Village Elementary School, receiving P300,000 cash prize and the special awards Best in Introduction, Best in Community Dance, and Most Disciplined Contingent.
Asuncion L. Lizares Elementary School was second runner-up and won P200,000, along with Best in Mask, Headdress, and Costume.
Electric MassKara
Barangay Mansilingan emerged as the grand champion in this year’s Electric MassKara and Float Parade competition with the theme One Smile, One City, One Heart here on Friday night, Oct. 17, with their entry Cakes of Bacolod.
Celebrating the city’s sweet tooth and iconic dessert scene, Mansilingan’s float featured towering pastries, vibrant designs, and performers in dessert-themed costumes.
Mansilingan bagged P350,000, the Grand Champion trophy, and special awards Best Float, Best Mask and Costume, and Best Music, each with an additional P10,000 prize.
Barangay 12 was second with a nostalgic homage to the Bacolod Public Plaza and took home P200,000 and a trophy.
Third was Barangay Granada place with their festive tribute to the Inasal Festival, which earned them the Most Disciplined Award, along with P150,000 and a trophy.
Teen MassKara envoys
A Grade 12 and Grade 9 student were crowned Teen MassKara 2025 ambassadors.
Grade 12 student Robert Rognel Guinanao was named Mr. Teen MassKara 2025. Grade 9 student Jamie Elise Gutheil was Miss Teen MassKara 2025.
Other winners were Mr. and Miss Teen MassKara 2025 Tourism Jechonias Manzano II and Stacy Dominique Latigo; Mr. and Miss Teen MassKara 2025 Charity John Cediel Estaniel and Princess Yvy Corral Were, and Isaiah Francis Estrada and Zhylle Victoria Ubamos, runners-up.
Other male candidates were Kevin Rey Guanzon, Linus Tristan Agtaran, Eljohn Areenia Jopson, John Michael Torreste, Kert Manuel Gelera, Lance Coby Coquilla, Chad Luis Arroyo, Ashneel Exaltado, and John Paul Benjamin.
The other female candidates were Princess Shane Yvy Corral, Charie Anne Adayo, Aleena Marie Roesler, Alexandrea Bless Imperial, Xyla Erojo, Ana Yzabelle Berbenzana, Ruby Mae Go, Sherie Mae Perez, Angel Shruti Reddy, and Gabrielle Gison.
