The quest for the country's Miss Grand International crown continued as Miss Grand Philippines Emma Tiglao entered the competition in Thailand on Oct. 18.
Before that, Emma automatically entered the Top 22 semi-finalists after winning the Country's Power of the Year special award.
Aside from the Philippines, other contestants who advanced in the Top 10 were delegates from Colombia, the Czech Republic, Ghana, Guatemala, Mexico, Spain, Tanzania, Thailand, and Venezuela.
Emma, 30, is on break from her newscasting stint on Net25 to focus on the international pageant.
The beauty queen from Pampanga started her pageant journey when she competed in Mutya ng Pilipinas 2012, where she won 1st runner-up. In 2014, she joined Binibining Pilipinas, where she made it to the Top 15. She also competed in Miss World Philippines 2015, where she was awarded 4th Princess. At the 2019 Binibining Pilipinas, she won Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental. In the same year, she represented the country in the Miss Intercontinental beauty pageant where she finished in the Top 20.
Also in the Top 22 were candidates from Japan, the United Kingdom, the Dominican Republic, Martinique, Indonesia, France, Zambia, Paraguay, Laos, Brazil, Belgium, the USA, and Ecuador.
Other winners of special awards were Brazil, India, and Thailand, Best National Costume; Thailand, Best In Swimsuit; Colombia, Miss Popular Vote; Japan and Ghana, Miss Grand Talent; and Mexico, Best in Evening Gown.
CJ Opiaza of the Philippines is the reigning Miss Grand International.
