Creamline and Petro Gazz aim for their second victories as the 2025 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference heads to the Capital Arena in Ilagan City on Saturday, Oct. 18.
The Cool Smashers take on the winless Galeries Tower Highrisers at 6:30 p.m. following the 4 p.m. clash between the Angels and the Chery Tiggo Crossovers.
Both Creamline and Petro Gazz carry 1-1 records, having faced each other last Tuesday, Oct. 14, where the Cool Smashers emerged with a four-set win.
Looking to build on that momentum, Creamline faces a Galeries Tower squad desperate to break out of an early 0-2 slump. The Highrisers suffered back-to-back straight-set losses to the Angels and the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles.
The Cool Smashers, however, remain without former league MVP Jema Galanza, who continues to recover from a serious left foot injury. Despite her absence, Creamline’s deep roster remains a threat as shown in its victory over Petro Gazz where three players scored in double figures.
Veteran Alyssa Valdez is expected to lead the charge alongside import Courtney Schwan, with the duo combining for 41 points in their last outing. Tots Carlos, Pangs Panaga and Kyle Negrito also provide firepower and stability for the squad.
Galeries Tower, meanwhile, is still searching for ways to close out matches. Import Jelena Cvijovic continues to anchor the team, but needs more consistent support from the locals to turn their campaign around.
In the opening match, Petro Gazz looks to rebound from its loss to Creamline and climb back into contention. The Angels will lean on their formidable frontline of Brooke Van Sickle, Lindsey Vander Weide and MJ Phillips.
Chery Tiggo, currently at the bottom of Pool B with a 0-2 record after defeats to ZUS Coffee and Akari, is also eager to break through. Ces Robles and import Yunieska Batista, who scored 20 and 17 points, respectively, will lead the Crossovers’ offensive charge, backed by Ara Galang and Mylene Paat.
