THE Zamboanga City Police Office Station 12 was activated Wednesday.
ZAMBOANGA CITY - Police and government officials led the formal activation and assumption of office ceremony on Wednesday, Oct. 15, of the Zamboanga City Police Station 12 in Barangay Talon Talon here.
Police Major Juvic Aballe was appointed acting station commander.
Police Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta, Police Regional Office-9 director, said the police station was activated to enhance police visibility and response capability in fast growing communities.
Mayor Khymer Olaso here backed the activation and expressed belief that the new police station will bring public safety services closer to the people.
On Oct. 1, the National Police Commission officially upgraded the Zamboanga City Police Office to Type A status, authorizing the activation of Police Station 12 in Talon-Talon and paving the way for the creation of up to eight police stations all over the city.
This development is pursuant to Napolcom Resolution No. 2025-0582 signed by the Commission en banc headed by Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary and Napolcom ex-officio chairperson Juanito Victor C. Remulla.
