We continue to work hard to earn and keep public trust—PBBM
President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. (PCO)
President Marcos said his administration is working continuously to earn and maintain the trust and confidence of the Filipino people by listening to their concerns and focusing on what truly matters to them.
In an interview at Malacañan, the President said public support must continually be earned, adding that responsiveness to citizens’ needs remains a central part of his administration’s governance approach.
“Kung may reklamo, bukas naman kami. Sige magreklamo kayo, sabihin ninyo sa amin (If there are complaints, we’re open. Go ahead and tell us). If it’s something that we have to attend to… because we try to listen to everyone,” he said.
He added that the administration’s ability to keep public trust depends on its willingness to engage different groups and address their issues directly.
“That’s the only way. That’s the only real way that we can keep the support of people in different sectors,” Marcos said.
While noting that support from various sectors remains strong, the President said his administration remains mindful that public confidence is never permanent.
“However, we work very hard to continue to earn that support from them,” he said.
“Politics is a very variable, very volatile exercise… and we will continue to work very hard to make sure that we are doing what people want—and that’s the most important thing,” he added.
Confident of continued public backing
President Marcos said he remains confident that key sectors of society continue to back his administration’s advocacies and development agenda.
“We are confident that the important sectors of society, the power centers of society, and of the administration are very supportive still of the advocacies of the administration [and] the programs of the administration,” he said.
Asked to comment on alleged attempts to call for a withdrawal of military support, the President said the government remains “on solid ground” in terms of stability and trust.
“The administration is still very much on solid ground in terms of support from the different sectors of society,” he said, noting that his team remains proactive in maintaining open dialogue with all stakeholders.
“We are constantly talking to everyone… we are very open in our discussions. Whoever has any kind of grievance or complaints, we always go to them and say, ‘What can we do to accommodate your advocacy?’,” he added.
Marcos said this consistent effort to engage and address public concerns reflects his administration’s commitment to transparency, unity, and accountable governance.
