Taguig high school students experience breathing difficulty during fire drill
Some students of Tipas National High School in Taguig experienced breathing difficulty during an earthquake and fire drill on Oct. 16.
The students reportedly experienced this while a fire extinguisher was being used during the drill.
In a post on Taguig.com Facebook page, fire brigade volunteer Hervin Estacio explained that the students inhaled powder from a fire extinguisher.
“Ang powder po na nalanghap ng mga studyante ay mula sa ginamit na fire extinguisher habang ginaganap ang earthquake at fire drill sa nasabing skwelahan (The powder inhaled by the students was from a fire extinguisher used during the earthquake and fire drill at the said school),” Estacio wrote.
He added that Barangay Palingon asked help from nearby barangays to cater to other patients.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Taguig has yet to issue an official statement about the incident.
