Kiko Barzaga receives fatherly advice from Benhur Abalos

Former Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) secretary Benhur Abalos gave some fatherly piece of advice to Cavite 4th district Rep. Francisco "Kiko" Barzaga, who depending on one's political views may or may not be going too far with his antics.
At the same time, Abalos also responded to Barzaga's allegations on social media that his family pocketed public funds.
"Unsolicited advice, Cong. Kiko: as public servants, our foremost responsibility is to the people. It would be proper to address the issues being discussed in the committee instead of resorting to baseless accusations," Abalos wrote in a Facebook post Thursday afternoon, wherein he even tagged the gen Z congressman.
"As a father, I pray that you be guided in the actions you will undertake moving forward, and that you set a good example for the next generation," the ex-DILG head honcho added.
Barzaga--a Marcos administration critic and rage-baiter extraordinaire on social media--has lately been picking on Abalos and 4Ps Party-list Rep. JC Abalos for his content.
Rep. Abalos is chairman of the House Committee on Ethics and Privileges, which is handling multiple complaints on proprietary and decorum against Barzaga.
Barzaga, 27, had a scheduled ethics hearing last Monday, Oct. 13. However, he arrived late to the proceedings and admitted that he was "very busy" playing video games the night before.
It was after this that the Dasmariñas City solon began assailing the Abaloses on his Facebook--something that wasn't lost on the ex-DILG chief.
"I wish to clarify that during my tenure as secretary of the [DILG], I had no involvement in any flood control projects. Furthermore, my nephew, Congressman JC Abalos, was not involved in any such undertakings," Abalos said.
"If I recall correctly, this issue began when you were asked by the Ethics Committee, chaired by Congressman JC, to appear before it. You did not appear and instead hurled unfounded and malicious accusations against me, JC, and my family," he added.
