TACLOBAN CITY – A 48-year-old teacher was shot and wounded by her ex-husband inside the Tanauan School of Craftsmanship and Home Industries in Tanauan, Leyte, Thursday, Oct. 16.
Police identified the victim as Elize.
Initial investigation said that the suspect, Adam, 46, arrived at the school and shot the victim without provocation in the right shoulder.
Adam threw the gun, a .38 caliber revolver, onto the roof of a nearby building.
Police arrive and found the suspect armed with a “balisong” (fan knife) attempting self-harm. He was quickly subdued and apprehended.
The victim was taken to a hospital by a colleague.
Police recovered the gun.
Investigation also said the couple was separated at the time of the incident.
The suspect claimed jealousy fueled the attack as he discovered the victim was having an affair.
