Foxies overpower Super Spikers for 2-0 best start

Farm Fresh overpowered Cignal, 25-19, 25-20, 25-16, to notch its best start in franchise history in the 2025 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Thursday, Oct. 16.
Trisha Tubu led the charge for the Foxies with a fiery performance, delivering 21 points built on 19 kills and two blocks to anchor the squad to their second straight win in as many games.
The Foxies have already surpassed their previous best start, having never opened a season with back-to-back victories since joining the league in 2023. Their first win against Nxled already marked a milestone for the young team.
Tubu said their relaxed approach to the game was the key to their recent victories.
“Magandang practice yung relaxed lang kami pagpasok sa court. Kahit sa loob ng dugout pa lang, relaxed na kami,” the former Adamson standout said.
Farm Fresh also capitalized on the absence of Cignal’s key spiker Vanie Gandler, who was sidelined due to a minor injury, as well as head coach Shaq Delos Santos, who was hospitalized with the flu.
Assistant Rico De Guzman temporarily took the reins for Cignal, but was unable to find answers against a red-hot Farm Fresh squad.
Belgian hitter Helene Rousseaux, who debuted with 38 points in their first game, was equally sharp, firing 17 points on 13 attacks, two blocks and two aces.
Alohi Robins-Hardy also spelled the difference for the Foxies after posting 24 excellent sets.
With Gandler’s absence, only import Evangelia Chantava scored in double figures for the Super Spikers with 13 points.
