The Quezon City Epidemiology and Surveillance Division (QCESD) recorded a 67 percent increase in influenza-like illness (ILI) with a total of 2,070 cases recorded from January 1 to October 13, 2025, compared to the same period in 2024.
Health authorities said children aged 14 and below are the most affected, accounting for 1,348 of the total cases.
The city government is urging residents to remain vigilant and follow preventive health measures to prevent the further spread of the illness.
To prevent flu transmission, the QCESD reminded the public to:
- Wash hands regularly with soap and clean water.
- Wear face masks, especially when coughing or sneezing.
- Cover the mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.
- Eat nutritious food and drink plenty of water to strengthen immunity.
- Get enough rest and sleep.
- Exercise regularly.
- Stay home when feeling sick to avoid infecting others.
Residents are also advised to consult the nearest health center immediately if they experience flu symptoms.
The city's health centers are open Monday to Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The city government reminded the public that maintaining good hygiene, a healthy lifestyle, and early medical consultation can help keep families safe from influenza.
