CNPF bags 3rd coconut facility, invests $45 million to boost Mindanao operations
Po-led Century Pacific Food, Inc. is expanding further its coconut processing capacity by investing $45 million to acquire and upgrade a fully integrated facility in South Cotabato owned by Roxas and Co. Inc.’s subsidiary, Roxas Sigma Agriventures, Inc.
In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange, CNPF said the transaction was executed through its wholly-owned subsidiary Coco Harvest, Inc. (CHI), marking CNPF’s third coconut processing facility and further strengthening its position in the Philippine coconut industry.
Approximately $45 million will be invested to acquire and upgrade the facility, located in Tupi, South Cotabato. The plant currently produces high-value coconut products, including coconut cream, coconut milk, virgin coconut oil, and coconut water concentrate.
Planned enhancements will further expand its capabilities to serve both domestic and export markets, adding new product lines and improving overall efficiency. The investment will be funded through the company’s internally generated cash flows.
With this acquisition, CNPF’s coconut operations will support around 800 quality manufacturing jobs in Mindanao, creating a positive ripple effect on livelihoods and economic activity in the region.
“This acquisition is a milestone for our coconut business and a testament to our commitment to inclusive growth,” said Noel Tempongko, Jr., Vice President and General Manager of CNPF’s OEM Coconut Exports.
He added, “By expanding our capacity in coconuts, we not only enhance our competitiveness in the global coconut industry but also create meaningful economic opportunities for local communities in Mindanao.
“The additional capacity will allow us to innovate and serve the market with more high-quality, better-for-you coconut products, supporting our mission to deliver affordable nutrition to our consumers.”
In a separate disclosure, Roxaco stated that it owns 95 percent of Roxas Sigma Agriventures, Inc. (RSAI), while Sigma Xynergies Corporation owns the remaining five percent. RSAI’s fully integrated coconut processing facility is located on a 2.2-hectare property in Tupi, South Cotabato.
Proceeds from the sale will be used to settle RSAI’s outstanding bank debt and other liabilities. The transaction is also in line with RCI's intentions to deleverage and focus efforts on developing its landholdings in Nasugbu, Batangas.
RSAI’s processing plant was inaugurated in 2017 and began commercial operations in 2018 by offering all-natural coconut cream and milk, coconut water concentrate, and virgin coconut oil to clients globally.
With over 150 regular employees, it is a vital livelihood provider in the local community. Additionally, as a large buyer of dehusked nuts, the facility is a positive force for the coconut industry in South Cotabato and neighboring regions.
RSAI advised that Century Pacific will continue the vision to offer high-quality coconut products both locally and internationally.
“We are confident that Century’s plans to upgrade the facility will usher in a new phase of growth and expanded product offerings,” said RSAI Business Development Manager Antonio T. Roxas.
CNPF first entered the coconut category in 2012 as a manufacturer of coconut water for OEM exports. Since then, the Company has expanded its manufacturing capabilities to include a wider range of coconut product formats and serving key partners across Southeast Asia, including Linaco Manufacturing.
In 2019, CNPF launched a branded coconut line for the domestic market, strengthening its local presence.
More recently, the company announced the renewal of its long-term contract with The Vita Coco Company, Inc., a global leader in coconut water. The deal was valued at approximately ₱14 billion spanning five years beginning January 2026.
To date, CNPF operates three coconut processing hubs in the Philippines: its first in General Santos, the facility in Misamis Occidental, which was acquired in 2024, and the newly purchased plant in South Cotabato.
Across the globe, the demand for coconut products is on the rise, underpinned by long-term shifts toward healthier consumption and wellness-oriented lifestyles.
As one of the world’s top coconut producers, the Philippines enjoys a competitive edge, with Century Pacific among its emerging players playing in both export and domestic markets.
