Authorities discovered the body of an unidentified man in Sitio Rolling Hills, Barangay San Rafael, on Sunday, Oct. 12.
Police said the body was found on a vacant lot beside the road around 5 a.m., after a tricycle driver passing through the area reported the sighting to barangay officials.
Responders verified the report and immediately coordinated with the Rodriguez Municipal Police Station.
The victim was found lifeless with multiple stab wounds on various parts of his body and his hands were tied when he was discovered.
Police said the man, estimated to be 35 to 40-year-old, had tattoos on his leg and side.
The Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) reported that the victim had been dead for about two hours before being found.
Barangay officials said no missing person had been reported in the area prior to the discovery, adding that the incident has caused concern among residents.
Police said they have identified a person of interest and are conducting follow-up operations to determine the motive and the victim’s identity.
