Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) and Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) of the City of Manila received brand new tablets on Wednesday, Oct. 15, in a move to modernize and enhance the delivery of healthcare services across communities.
The tablets were donated by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), in partnership with EMed Healthcare Solutions, Inc., and representatives from PhilHealth.
The initiative aims to upgrade the tools used in health centers and streamline data encoding and reporting processes for nearly two million residents of Manila.
The ceremonial turnover was led by Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso, Vice Mayor Chi Atienza, and Dr. Grace Padilla, Officer-in-Charge of the Manila Health Department.
With these new digital tools, BHWs and BNS will now be better equipped to provide efficient, organized, and data-driven services to their communities.
“Today, we are going on a journey with our partners, with enough tools and knowledge, in the coming days and weeks of our lives. Mas magiging episyente tayo na mayakap ang lahat ng mamamayan sa lungsod ng Maynila (We will become more efficient in reaching and embracing every citizen of the City of Manila),” said Domagoso.
The mayor also emphasized that despite financial constraints, the city government remains committed to meeting the essential needs of every Manileño, especially in the area of public health.
The project, he said, reflects the city’s continuing efforts to innovate and strengthen public service delivery, with the support of both government agencies and private sector partners.
