Is "Congressmeow" Cavite 4th district Rep. Francisco "Kiko" Barzaga trying to recruit 'kakampinks" to his cause?
A Facebook post from the self-styled white knight against corruption on late Tuesday night, Oct 14, indicted that he didn’t view kakampinks as his enemies.
"Congressman Barzaga’s Statement on the Kakampink Movement...The Pinks and Yellows are not our enemies," the 27-year-old Barzaga's post read.
"They wll become our allies once they also realize that the Trillion Peso March is inefficient and that more success can be found demonstrating at the gates of exclusive subdivisions like Forbes Park and Dasmariñas Village," added the cat-loving solon, in what could be interpreted as a "solicitation purr".
"Kakampink"--a portmanteau of "kakampi (ally) and pink--was first used in 2022 as a branding for the supporter of then-presidential candidate Leni Robredo.
Barzaga--known for his eccentricity, unpredictability, and sheer rage-baiting prowess--led an anti-President Marcos rally in Makati City on Sunday, Oct. 12, but its attendance reportedly had more bluster than actual warm bodies.
It remains to be seen if kakampinks or their precursor "dilawans" would care to heed Barzaga's message.
Like many of his statements, the neophyte lawmaker's clarion call for the pink force isn't without irony--Barzaga originally supported Robredo's presidential candidacy in 2022, only to switch to eventual winner Ferdinand 'Bongbong" Marcos Jr. later on since he thought he was the better bet.
Now, he wants to unseat Marcos to achieve his idea of "justice".
