Enough is enough: Mendoza vows to expedite all LTFRB transactions, vows to end under the table deals

Newly-installed Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Vigor F. Mendoza II vowed to expedite the processing of all petitions and motions, which he said, is also an antidote to corruption in the agency.
By fast-tracking all the petitions and other transactions in the agency, Mendoza said the practice of under table transactions will be addressed and will likewise comply with President Marcos’ instruction to implement ease of doing business measures in all government agencies.
“We have to put an end to this practice because if we do not do it now, when are we going to do it? And when will your petitions be resolved,” Mendoza told transport groups during a dialogue.
Based on the initial result of the assessment, Mendoza said he found out that It would take months before petitions and other pleadings before the agency were resolved.
Currently, he said a number of petitions remain pending at the expense of operators and drivers whose livelihood depend on early resolution of their pleadings relating to routes and other public transportation-related matters.
In the same meeting, Mendoza vowed to find ways in resolving all the pending matters in the agency by the third week of November this year, even as he assured that incidents of petitions and motions that take years to resolve will be a thing of the past in the LTFRB.
Chairman Mendoza earlier said fast-tracking the resolution of all pending petitions, pleadings and cases is in response to the instruction of President Marcos to listen and do something to address the concerns of those in the public transport sector.
“All I ask from your part is to refrain from being an enabler of corruption by giving in to the demands of anybody in the agency that are illegal,” said Mendoza.
He then asked the transport sector to list down all their pending petitions and pleadings to expedite the retrieval and resolution.
“Let us work together to further improve the system here in LTFRB because it is not only the drivers and operators who will benefit but the missions of Filipino commuters,” said Mendoza.
