Mayor Edwin Olivarez said the structural audit aims to ensure the safety, stability, and structural soundness of school buildings to identify any potential hazards that may compromise the welfare of learners and teaching personnel.
Olivarez said the inspection covers the evaluation of structural integrity of classrooms and major facilities, assessment of non-structural components such as ceilings, lighting fixtures, and partitions, and verification of compliance with safety standards and emergency egress routes.
He said that coordination with school administrators and Department of Education representatives was also made for the necessary corrective measures.
The mayor said that through these efforts, the city government reaffirms its commitment to safeguarding the community by maintaining safe and resilient learning environments for students and educators.
Olivarez said that preparedness saves lives and ensuring the safety of schools begins with vigilance and structural integrity.
