Mayor Maan strengthens health services, emergency readiness in first 100 days
Marikina City Mayor Maan Teodoro highlighted her administration’s accomplishments in its first 100 days, focusing on programs that strengthen health services and emergency preparedness in the city.
During Monday's flag-raising ceremony, Teodoro said one of the city’s milestones was the acquisition of its own CT-Scan machine.
The city also offers free assessments for children with special needs through the assistance of a developmental pediatrician, with plans underway to establish the Marikina Autism Center.
She added that under the Alagang Marikina initiative, health services were strengthened through the addition of doctors and healthcare workers, as well as the opening of Alaga Centers in Districts 1 and 2.
With these centers, Marikeños can request medicines, laboratory services, or medical equipment, as they will serve as extensions of the city's barangay health centers, bringing healthcare even closer to the people.
The city also enhanced the Rescue 161 emergency response unit to provide faster assistance.
At the same time, the mayor said that the city's flood control systems were tested and proven resilient during Typhoon Crising, ensuring residents’ safety.
Marikina E-Concern
The local government also launched the “Marikina E-Concern,” a digital platform that aims for faster public service response.

“Sa panahon ngayon, mahalaga ang mabilis at maaasahang tugon mula sa pamahalaan (As of now, quick and reliable government response is important),” it said.
Marikeños can use the platform to directly report city issues, such as broken roads or sidewalks, clogged canals, streetlights, and other community concerns.
“Simple lang: Ireklamo mo, tutugunan natin (Report it, and we’ll address it). This is digital governance—Alagang Marikina style,” the mayor said.
“Sa Marikina, ang gobyerno ay hindi lang naglilingkod, kundi nagmamalasakit (In Marikina, the government does not only serve, but also cares),” she added.
